March 19, 2023 - introvert Carly decides to message Andy on a dating app. Crazy Andy responds the next morning at 3am, his usual wake up time, and they both knew it was fate. We went on our first date three days later. It went so well that Andy confidently deleted all dating apps in the parking lot of the restaurant before going home!

We started dating shortly after and things got serious pretty quick. We realized our passion for running and biking and conquering big goals brought us together. That summer, we spent over 100 hours biking and running together (over 1500 miles)! You could say our love language is quality time :)

During the summer months, we were living an hour apart. In October, Andy moved to Pleasant Prairie to live less than two minutes apart. Now, instead of just weekend fun, we could eat dinner together every night and complete our 4:30am morning workouts together. Including, a marathon on a random Friday before going to work for the day!

Fast forward to November... we start looking at ring designs. Carly had 2 requests: she wanted it to be soon, and for it to be a surprise. And boy, was she surprised. The scene: it's Dec 22, we're in Oshkosh with Carly's family. Carly's mom asks us to put on nice clothes to take a picture in front of the Christmas tree. Little did Carly know there was a ROCK in a gold bag under the tree. In fact, she came down, and decided to put on an Ohio 70.3 Ironman shirt over her sweater, in protest of the request. When she realized what was happening, the protest quickly ended. As you can decipher, Carly DID say yes!
